Edward McGuinness is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor at INPAX. Edward has been involved with self-care and personal well-being on a professional basis since 2008 when he graduated from his Masters program for school counseling. Edward is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in a wide range of therapeutic modalities, however he enjoys assisting clients with a history of trauma. He has been involved with numerous adventure-based hobbies, such as expedition whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, and trail running. Edward started training under Brian Cowin in October of 2016 in preparation for a ski trip. The fundamentals of BJJ/ground fighting was the missing link in his personal training strategy, and he has continued to learn under Brians’ coaching. Edward is currently a Blue Belt.
Edward works at INPAX to encourage the positive self-care that ground fighting has promoted in his life. Learning to take a deep breath when things become challenging, envisioning success when doubt emerges, and accepting defeat in training to ensure success in life.
